In my artist's statement I mention that my goal is to "draw the viewer in, tempting them to touch."
And guess what... you're allowed to do so.
I know it's a big "no no" in the fine art world-- for good reason. But it really is ok with MY work.
I am a textural person. I touch EVERYTHING. I cannot imagine telling my viewers not to touch.
(But please, do not go around touching other artists' work claiming I said it was ok-- I'll deny every word.)
